They were redrilled. You have to do some grinding on the caliper carrier for spacers less then 8mm. I put the smallest one possible to avoid having to cut out a section of the bracket. It stat pretty much flush with the fender up front. Rears could have used 12mm spacers. I do have a set of style 4 that i'l be selling as soon as them come back from getting re-drilled.
I don't remember if i had top hats at that point in time.
As far as lowness the races are lower then sports.
Ah how could I forget about style 4's! Those would probably look good near h&r height too! Does anyone have pictures of those set up on a similar e30?
My sports appear to be seated in nicely, they've got quite a few miles/years on them and some autox and HPDEs. Maybe with drop hats I'll be at an acceptalbe height, without sacraficing comfort and clearance.
Worst comes to worst I'll just throw in some races down the road!Leave a comment:

Oh! Well thanks!! I hope it's okay I borrowed your picture! I'll give credit where it's due.
It's an exemplary setup I think. Was it 3mm spacers and a redrill?
And did you have drop hats?
From what I understand, sports and races are the same height.Leave a comment:

Wheel setups that look good on H&R sports
I know a lot of you are going to disagree, but to me a 16" deep dish looks great, but only when the car is slammed pretty damn low. Unfortunately, as a daily driver in houston with monstrous curbs and speedbumps everywhere, slammed is not an option.
So my goal is to find a setup that looks good at H&R sport height. The looks I've loved are the stock looking wheels, e38 16" style 5's and 15" weaves with spacers.
Can anyone post some pictures of their setups at H&R sport height? Or offer some insight?
I'll probably ultimately end up going with the e38 style 5's and 5 lug adapters.
Here's a setup I like, pretty sure the height is the same:
