    Tire question - wheel fitment

    Hey all,

I have 16 inch BBS RX's on my car right now. The tires on the car are Falken Azenis 215/45/zr16. They are old and need to be replaced. I was looking at the BF Goodrich Rival g-forces but noticed that the closest size they come into what I already have is 225/50/16.

I'm no tire guru, but from what I could gather these should have a sidewall that's 112.5mm vs the on for the Falkens that's 97.5mm right?.
..so here comes the stupid question. Will these fit my wheels? The car is lowered on the HR Cup Kit and the fenders have been rolled.

    Thanks for any input!

225/50 is too big for an E30. 205/50 or 225/45 would be the correct height tire.

What width and offset are your wheels?

That's what I was afraid of. They don't seem to make the rivals in that size. What would be the next best tire to the rivals? The car is only driven in the summer on nice days and sees 2-3 HPDE's per year.

I'll have to check the rim size when I get home. I know it has spacers for the hubs as well, just not sure what size.

          Ok so wheels say 7J x 16H2 ET35 and the spacers are 100x10 tr108.

So can I run a 225 width tire? Also, what would be the best tire available that's comparable to the Rivals?

What size are the spacers? Not understanding those numbers.

If the spacers are 10mm (which is my guess) it will be a great fit with 225 tires. You may need a light roll in the rear.

              I think they're 10mm. I'll measure them tonight.

I'm having a hell of a time deciding on a tire to buy. I looked on Tirerack and they have the Potenza RE-11's in 205/45/16 on closeout. Those things have great reviews, but am I going to be sacrificing too much traction by going with a 205 over a 225?

Alright, for anyone following - I went with the Toyo R888's in 225/45/16. They look like they should be very good on the track. Can't wait!
