    Tightening Weave Center Caps

    Newbie question:

I bought a set of 14" weaves from a forum member, with center caps. The caps can be removed easily by hand.

I know there is a cap removal tool, but I don't have one. Do they need to be tightenend down with that tool or some other tool? They seem to have a soft "click into place to seat" feeling when I hand tighten them, and not wanting to go further. But it doesn't seem so secure for something spinning at high rpm's.

Any basic help/info to help save my E30 from Steelie hub caps - much appreciated.

I've never lost one, and I've also never had the tool. If they feel like they click into place they're good.

If you have new plastic clip things inside then you would barely be able to put them on by hand, let alone remove them. That's what you'd need the tool for. If yours are old and worn in (as most would be at such an age) then you don't need it.

Mine are the same way and I've bought my car last June and been driving it since with the centercaps like that.

Just use some electrical tape to make it more secure. It works perfectly for me!
