I feel stupid saying this, but I'm on BFGoodrich Traction T/As, 196/65/14 all around and need new tires for spirited daily driving and weekend AutoX.

The treadwear was great on these, and the grip was decent, but I've heard a lot of good things about Nexens for the money. Winter is coming, though. Are they decent in rain?

Any other option next to star specs? Currently looking for 215/45/16 same performance or close to star specs?

im looking into beefing up under the wheel wells, im running 9 inch rear and 7.5 inch front rims with 215/45 and 205/40 azenis right now. the rears gave up thus my decision. im looking into 225/45-16 all around and came across with few alternatives,
              1- goodrich kdw
              2- falken fk452
              3- nexen n3000
              4- toyo r1r

any other suggestions? its my daily car and my concerns for the tires are dry grip, wet grip and noise level. "i hate noisy tires" it rains a lot in PR so wet grip is a most.

The KDW would definitely be my recommendation. It has a reputation for being pretty damn loud, but that's really only in the last 4-5/32 of tread. They're easily the best tire in their price range.

Yokohama S.Drives, 205/55/15 on 15" Euroweaves. Just installed em this morning. I LOVE them! So smooth and quiet. About to drive the car across country, glad to have a smooth ride.
One problem is, if I turn the wheel all the way either way (say to parallel park), they rub against the fenders. Anybody know any quick solutions to avoid that?

Either raise your front end up with spring pads or different spring hats or don't turn your wheels at full lock. Many people (read: everyone) with very low cars opt for the second option.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Looking for opinions on the following tire possibilities, for 17x8 wheels:

                        235/40 r17 Falken RT-615K Azenis
                        235/40 r17 Nitto NT05
                        235/40 r17 Dunlop Star Specs
                        235/45 r17 Hankook RS-3

The Hankooks are probably just too big to fit ok, which is a shame since they seem to get the best reviews. The car is an M50 swapped e30 on coilovers (686f and 909r spring rates) used as a part time DD and at HPDE events. I currently have 205/50 r16 Conti extremecontact tires which are great on the street but I reach their limit pretty quickly on the track. I live in phx so these will see high temps (which apparently, again, favors the Hankooks). Anybody have experience with any of these, or have a good recommendation for something else?

edit: and a set of r888 or NT01 are also an option, not as expensive as I thought and apparently lots of people have good results part time DDing those.

My vote is the dunlops. IMO, great for DD/HPDE/rain use. Best tires I've driven on to date.

I have the NT05's in 235x40x17 and really love them. I only have two HPDE on them and they ran very well. Tread-ware is high but I don't think you are concerned with that as all of the above have the same issues. I have yet to overheat them, great sidewall, and they hold the power of my S50. Even in the rain they do OK, though I recommend a light foot in the rain.

In direct, objective comparisons the Dunlop outperforms the Falken and Hankook. I would imagine it tops the Nitto as well, Nitto typically doesn't make the most refined tire. Among the tires you are considering the Star Specs are your best option. That said, I think you should look into the Potenza RE-11. It's a bit spendier than the others but it's also the best tire in its category, well worth the money. They will definitely be my next set of tires.
