    looking at some wheels...

im running cut springs (P.O) and bilstein sports and i was looking at some 17x8.5 wheels with an offset of 30. would these fit? im not to big of a wheel guy so offsets confuse me!

    Thanks ahead

The front will most likely rub your strut housing or brake caliper, which means you'll need a spacer.
The rear will fit without any modification, but will look a little sunken in.

Google how to calculate offsets. It's pretty easy.
      Really crude rule of thumb:
more offset = wheels sunken in
less offset = wheels pushed out

Once I learned offset, I use an 8" wide wheel with a 0 offset to gauge how other wheels will fit. Reason being is an 8" et0 wheel sits near flush with a fender with little camber.

It's hard to recommend a specific offset and width without knowing what "look" or what you want to do with the car.
+20 is always a good offset in my opinion because it lets you play with spacers and tires meaning you aren't stuck exclusively to one tires size or backspacing.
The black car is 16x9 et0 front et10 rear. The silver one is similar, but with an 8" wheel up front.

A proper sized tire on a 15" or 16" should not lower or raise your car, but leave you at factory height with a proper speedometer reading.

^-- This website is GOLD for someone in your situation. Punch in the wheel setup you've got now, then punch in for the set you want - shows you a side by side of the two. Tells you how much you're gonna stick out further than your current setup, ect.
