What's the best street tire out there for 14" E30 bottlenose wheels?

I'd like to get the Azenis in 195/60/14 sizing but I don't like that fact that it would be wasted on a daily driver plus they are kind of sketchy in the rain.

Also the tire choices for in 14" E30 bottlenose is boring since many of the top manufacturers don't really make good tires in these size.

Any suggetions on a sticky tire that aren't R-comp/racing tires?

      Bottlecap, not bottlenose.

Don't worry, at one time I thought they were driving board bumpers.

I had them on my NA Miata when I lived in SOCAL, a few sets actually. Even DD'd that car on R-comp Advans. If you are pressed for money, they are a good tire. You just have to be aware they aren't the greatest tire in the wet. It isn't like you're going to be on the track, they get hot and you're going to go flying off in a fireball of death. Same for the rain, as with driving in the wet in LA, you give yourself allowances for room. Your car is about 2600-2700#. That weight on a small contact patch will do better in the rain.

If you want to go to 15", Racing Dynamics Pro 1.2 is 15x7+25 @ 13.2# for $120/ea. That's a steal and it gets you in 15" sizes.

I have seen tons of Spec Miatas and Spec E30 rock these.

Thing you have to keep in mind, wheels are considered wear items. They develop microcracks over time, same is especially true for wheels used with r-comps. Old vintage wheels are awesome, but their condition can be suspect.

Also, the next time you need a question answered, it's usually best to keep it in one thread and not make three separate ones about the same material.

If you can pay cash for the tires, and since you are in LA, I recommend calling City Tire LA in Westgate. http://www.citytireonline.com/services.htm

195/65/14 is the correct size, it is getting tough finding them cheap
