    e36 staggered contours on e30

I have a late model turbo e30 vert, I am still in the process of saving for coilovers due to all my attention has been focused on the turbo setup. I bought the car with a set of 15x8 esm type A reps et20 all the way around and I liked the fitment but I am more of a 16-17 inch look. I then sold those and picked up a staggered set of Borbet type A 16x7.5 front and 16x9 rears and the et were 15 and 35 I believe. the rear fit great but the fronts needed 20mm spacers to clear struts and I absolutely hated how the car ran after the spacers were on. I understand the car would need an alignment after the spacers but was already looking to change up wheels and just sold them a short time after having them and am now runnng a set of bottle caps laying around wrapped with falken azenis rubber and with winter coming anyways the car will just sit till spring. I must say I'm not the master when it comes to offsets and will fitment, I understand negative and positive offsets but do not know how to calculate my final result, I just go buy trial and error bit knowbody likes buying wheels that don't fit if they don't have too.

Now to the point, I am 4x100 and really like the e36 m3 staggered contours as I had on my old estoril. I understand I'll need adapters but want to know what thickness I'll need to achieve aggressive/flush look. my fenders are slightly rolled with no pull.

any advice or help is greatly appreciated, as well as any good threads or links to assist.

    sorry for spelling.

The fit is up to you... The E36 wheels are ET41 so a 20mm adapter will put them at ET21 final offset. In my opinion that's pretty ideal for a nice fit that's still functional. Since the wheels are staggered you could run a 205/40/17 front and a 215/40/17 rear. If you wanted something a bit bigger go with a 205/45/17 front and 235/40/17 rear. The stock E36 sizes (225/45 & 245/40) are too big.
