Pretty sure you need spacers with that offset.

What will your final offset be?

215/40/17 is safe for most 8" on M3. With correct offset, you can get certain 235/40/17 in front and rear.

I test fit the wheels the other day on the lift... didn't have the car on the ground, but i believe the wheels fit fine on the car without touching the suspension with a 225mm tire. I have to reverify the profile of that tire.

225/40/17 is the perfect size tire for an 8" wheel on an m3, but nobody makes a street tire In that size anymore.

That's what I have on my car, they have a slight pull to them but most certainly no stretch by any standard. They were the closest to proper size I could find as far as diameter.

really? that doesn't sound like an obscure size by any means. how about 225/45/17?

I had this size previous to the 215/40 and the 225/45 were far too tall for me.

Lots of 225/45/17, but no 225/40/17

Nitto nt555 was the last I found.

Yeah, I run that size on my front 8", and 235/40/17 on my rear 8.5"

I ran 235/40/17 Star Specs. Nice flat sidewall...
                      Looked great.

They were wrapped around BBS RC304.
                      17x8et38 with 20MM spacer.

20mm spacer? I would imagine in the front only, right?

This is the difference between your rear wheels without spacers, and my rear setup. I am flush fit.

You would want 20mm spacers in the rear and front.
