    Face Mount or Reverse?

New rims, BBS LM 198's 18x8" ET35, obviously going in for a refinish.

Face mount, vs a reverse mount. the face is 9mm wide and the mounting lip is 8mm. If I decide to reverse mount, that should put the wheels at ET19, correct?

You need to machine the faces if you want to reverse mount them, the "bolt shelf" on the front of the face is slightly smaller than the bore center of the barrel, so the bolts will be the only thing centering them.

I see what you're saying, best explained by saying that the rear mounting lip on the face is wider than the one on the front.

I'm going to reverse mount my 17 x 8 LM's just figuring out how to widen them is the mission for me right now. I need at least a 9.5 / 10j to fill my flares with decent size tyres.
