Question about my new wheels and tires

I just had some new wheels and tires put onto my 91 318is. They are 15" two tone euro weaves with 205/55 BF Goodrich G Force Sports. The tires were balanced and siped.

Do I need to get an alignment after the wheel change? I moved up from 14" weaves running a set of studs. Before the swap my alignment was fine and the car drove great.

However now I have a very annoying problem. The car will only drive straight if you are on a very flat and even road. But the second you hit a small rut, dip in the road, or any uneven surface, the car drastically pulls (usually to the right). I am not talking about a slow drift but I mean if you don't put your hand right back on the wheel you are going off the road in seconds.

Ever had one sticky brake caliper and you know how the wheel gets pulled sometimes when you brake? Well this is about the same except happens during normal driving.

Would an alignment cure this problem or am I looking at other issues? Like I said no problems before the tire and wheel swap, done by America's Tire Company.

    Thanks for the insight

Got any pics of your car? Sounds nice. Do the tires handle nice? Sorry I don't know how to answer your question :(.

Well I checked the tire pressure. I had America's Tire Factory mount and install these tires for me. Here's how they set them:

DS front: 35lbs PS front: 45lbs
DS rear: 40lbs PS rear 45lbs

What is a good pressure for me to run these tires at?

I also asked them to air up my spare tire which they did not do.

I run mine at 36psi(cold) all around, exact same tire.

          205/55/15 on 15x7.5 wheels.

yer getting the "tracking" problem...i have experienced this with sticky tires...ie: treadwear <200 ... esp when they are getting worn down.

Its very possible that you have a loose ball joint-- either a tie rod or control arm, or both. Get the front end in the air and check for any play.

And to answer your original question: No, you do not need an alignment after changing your wheels or tires, as long as your previous tires were worn evenly and you had no complaints with the way the car handled. Wheels and tires do not change toe.
