    16x8 et18 205/50s on an '89 325- will they fit?

    Hey all,

New to e30s, not new to bmws. Car in question is a 1989 2 door 325i champagne colored manual. I will be installing coilovers and studs at the same time as the wheels.

I am looking at a set of 16x8 et18 wheels with 205/50 tires. Wheels are Klutch SL1 with bronze centers and black lips. Car is currently on bottlecaps and basically bald tires.

I am thinking I will need spacers to clear the coilovers, using willtheyfit.com as a guide, it seems the new wheels and tires will be almost a cm closer on the inside, and stick out 4cm more on the outside.

Sounds like I will need to roll the fenders a bit? and spacers?

I am looking for advice and peopel with experience to chime in. Thanks!

Hey, I got the same wheel/tire size as you. My wheels came et25, but I needed a 5mm spacer to clear the front coilovers. And I have 15 mm spacers in the rear, but it rubs on big bumps. I'm thinking of getting thinner spacers maybe 10mm. I'll try to get some pics later today.

thanks, sounds like I might need a small spacer in the rear, fronts might be good, considering our offsets are different...

I'll probably pick up a set of 5mm spacers, and 10mm spacers so I can play around with them.

actually maybe just a pair of 5mm... probably won't need 10s.

        Are your fenders rolled?

I am running Road Force 727 wheels 16x8, ET +20 , with 225/45/16 tires front & 16x9 ET +20 , 225/45/16 tires rear with out any spacers. Very very happy with my set up. Slight ( very slight) rear tire rub only on the most extreme roads at high speeds, the front tires are totally clear of rubbing in every condition. No tire stretch of the side walls, 38 psi pressure all 4 tires.

That sounds good. I actually just ordered the wheels and tires, wheels were previously mentioned Klutch SL1s in bronze, 16x8 et18 squared with 205/50 BF goodrich g force sport comp 2 tires. Didn't order spacers, sounds like I may not need them. We shall see :-P
