Tire gurus chime in, 16x8 / 16x9 stagger

    Hi R3V,

Need some help from the tire gurus on here, looking to do a 16x8/9 stagger on the e30 and need advise on tire size. ET is currently 35 but might add spacers, not sure yet. Not looking to be hella flush, but just aggressive enough for NYC streets and preferably no fender rolling.

Let me know what recommendations you have :) thanks in advance.

you'll pretty much have to. Especially with so wide a wheel (unless you have an 325iX) as I think you might not even clear the strut on the front. Why do people keep buying front wheel drive offset wheels when there are plenty of proper fitting ones for E30's out there?

Should be looking more around a 15-20mm offset for those wheels in those sizes. Even if they fit, they aren't going to be anywhere near flush or aggressive.
Just a little project im working on

Also take into consideration 16 inch tires are very hard to find. I run Nexen N3000, 225/45/16 in the rear and 215/40/16 up front. 16x9x4. front et 20, rear et 15. Solid staggered look. No rub lock to lock on H&R sports. No fender rolling. You could run 225/45/16 on all 4 wheels if you prefer. Please note, Nexen N3000 are being discontinued in 225. They are however coming out in that size with an updated tread pattern.

My personal preference is that 16 inch wheels are the best size for the E30. Not too big, not to small. 225/45/16 is a good beefy tire size. Perfect fit for the fender well.
