    17x9

Has anyone ever ran 17x9 in the rears ? Any recommendations on tire sizes ? Was thinking about 205/40/17. Thanks!

17x9 will fit with a stretched tire but with a tire meant for the width it will not fit an e30 really. Also a 205 is way undersized.

It's been done before, though getting a set of flares will make fitment much easier. And yeah, 205 is way too small, that's like lifestyle levels of stretched right there. 225-235's will not only be safer but you'll be able to go round corners faster too AND have a slightly stretched tire. Win-win if you ask me.

i have 17x9 on the back of my car, i had 195/40s on them with no issues but one got damaged when i was taking the wheels apart to change the color and i replaced them with 205/40s..

everything clears fine, im on airride and almost lay rocker in the back with no rubbing

I ran 17x9 all around on my old S50 E30 with 235/40 tires. No flares needed.

tire brands run different widths. I have a 225/45 on a 9.5 in my rear, and they are almost square.

I agree. My 2nd set of tires on that car ran more like a 245.

my 17x9 245/45/17s are rubbing in front at the wheel well. Fenders are cut off so thats not a problem. Any way to fix this besides cutting into my wheel well?

                    aren't you running 255s on all 4 17x9s?
