16" Kopi Alpinas - are the rumors true?

So Ive heard rumors of 16x8 inch Kopi Alpinas being offered as soon as this summer. Wanted to verify if the rumors were true.

Well I searched around and theres currently a GB on the tech that outlines everything. Based on interest 16 inchers might be available in 7 and 8 inch wide versions for $149 & $159 respectively through the group buy. Retail will be $20 more.

We're negotiating with the factory-hopefully we will be able to offer them in 16" by late summer.
We'll keep you posted.
In the meantime,we have the 17" Kopis in stock.

Chances are we will not get the Kopis in 16" due to the high cost of making the dye-about $20,000.
A minimum of 400 16" wheels will have to be pre-sold to make it economically feasable.
We are however starting a Group Buy on the other sizes-
$80 off a set of 4 wheels.

Wouldn't 400 wheels only be 100 sets. Shouldn't be too hard to sell 100 sets. I wouldn't be in due to the style of my car, but I'm sure you could get 100 guys that would pony up for them. It would be a risk though cause taking preorders would be too hard.

If they only need to sell 100 sets I have no idea what they are waiting for. If they sell internationally they will have 100 sets sold in a week..

I honestly think if 16's were made theyd outsell the 17's, at least in e30 fitment.
