corvette wheels

anyone have info on what tires are best to run on my 86 325e , just picked up some 17" corvette wheels and going to get adapters but wondering what thickness i need to clear the suspension parts and stuff . will include pics and more info on the wheels if needed just wondering if someone has been running some and how they run them !
