If you have to back down to 215's, at least get something GOOD. RT-615's would be my choice.
I'm learning tire life > stickyness. I didn't put many miles on those RS2's and they are already noticably worn.

      Tire life also =/ stickyness.

It's just physics man. The better performance you have, the less they will last. If you want a tire that will last reasonably long and still kick some ass, look at the new Kumho SPT. Excellent tire, just ordered some for my mom's E46 last week.

Better than the Hankook I previously mentioned?

I'm looking to spend $90 per tire or less and prefer to purchase from www.discounttiredirect.com so shoot me your best reccomendation out of tires in that price range in 215/40/17 if you could.

Yes, SPT's are MUCH better than K104's.

Looking at DTD for you, the only tire under $90 I'd touch is the SPT. Beyond that, the G-Force at $98 is the next excellent tire.

It all depends on the offset of the wheels. I wish people would understand this.

OK so my offset is 38 on a 17x7 rim so i'll have to use a 15mm spacer. then 215/40-17 should fit right? Even after I do suspension I only plan to drop it 1.5 in front and 1.25 rear.

A 15mm spacer is good but a 10mm spacer would also be fine.

so if u want 215, u'll need wheel spacers? if thats the case, whats the widest i can fit on 17x7s? will 225s work?
