How do I get my old school wheels to look like this?

I've got a line on a set of old school MSW 15" wheels that need some help. I would like them to look like this set of wheels. Doing a search on this forum doesn't reveal any tricks on getting the spokes on basketweave wheels to shine like they do in the pics. I would also like the recessed area between the spokes and in the hub to be semi gloss black. Any tricks of the trade would be appreciated.

My take would be to paint the whole wheel semi-gloss black, then use emory cloth/Scotchbrite to remove the paint from the raised portions, then polish the area with finer grit wet sand and clear coat the whole thing.

Those wheels are originally fully painted, the faces and lips are machined and then clear coated. The above mentioned solution is a good way to do it by hand.

Thinking of doing the same to my msw Ceres. Gold centers. Nice lead on those wheels. Look nice, and don't see too many msw wheels around anymore.

the only way youll get a uniform finish on the faces is to have them diamond cut like those were (on a lathe).. theres a few places that do stuff like that.. VR wheels in california is one of them..
