    SSR Competitions

    I found a great price on a nearly-new set in 15" x 7".

    Questions:

These wheels are et38 or so, right?
Does anyone know the centerbore? I actually had a set of these at on another car, and I seem to remember they had centering rings... is that right?
If they are et38 or so, does that offset fit/look goofy on a lowered car without spacers?
Does anyone have pics of any 15" wheels in that offset on a lowered e30 for comparison?
Better still, does anyone have pics of 15" SRR Comps on an e30? :)

    Much thanks!

It depends what the wheels are made for. Et38 is the offset for a Mini, and maybe Miata as well in that size. http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ead.php?t=2053

Hub centerbore would therefore be smaller than an E30's.

What car are they made for? I thought someone around here had SSR comps on an E30, or at least wanting to earlier (not talking about Russel's reps either). Probably thinking of DanGillan wanting to run a set.

either way, if they are a deal and for a Cooper, let me know. You should pass the word onto my friend with one and go for something that actually fits your car.

      They are for Miata.

But the set I had for my Miata had centering rings and weren't hub-specific, so I am thinkin' that they would fit w/ different rings + spacers?

Really don't want a 16" wheel due to limited tire selection, so I would like to stay with a 15" wheel.

Call tirerack and see if they would know, and if you can order E30-size (57.1 mm) centering rings.

I know M3ntal-Kev did that with his BBS wheels. They use a centering ring and he took the wheels off of a Mini and put them on his 318is.

I'll have to do that. Seems to my fuzzy memory that the centering rings were removable, which bodes well. :)

I'm not showing any 15X7 Miata Comps so I'm not sure which wheel he is
looking at. If it's a standard 72.2mm ring system he can step it up
            using:

            AL571 MM 72.2-57.1 CENTER RING

If the wheel is a 15X7 ET 37 he should be in the ball park on the
            offset.
I know I bought my 15 x 7 SSR Comps form tirerack, although they don't carry that size.

Sounds like I just need to find out if it's a "standard" ring system.

Ask if they carry a 15x7 SSR Comp for a Mini Cooper. Even if it's on a Miata, they should be very similar (forunate for my friend wanting some cheap Auto-X wheels!)

Check with the buyer and hopefully the centering ring should be standard SSR issue, (I would think so), and then you can be in business.

Ok, here's the details on the SSRs:

                Model: SSR Type-C
                Size: 15x7.0
                Bolt pattern: 4x100
                Offset: +42
                Hub diameter: 72.2mm
Using Mille Miglia machined hubcentric rings to bring the hubs to 54.1mm
So, that sounds like standard SSR issue. Which means it will fit so long as I replace the rings w/ 57.1mm rings.

And then... what... about a 15mm spacer kit?
Or should I go for 20mm?

ET27 is what Koseis are. ET22 would be closer to the fender, but may fit 225s. Or need to roll them a little.

                  I'd say 15mm.

I have 225/50/15 tires that are brand new on those Compomotives.

And they rub slightly at et25 on my e30. A fender roller would take care of it, because it ain't rubbin' bad.

Get 20mm. Some wider rubber doesn't like ET27, may as well leave your options open.

I'm gonna take a "pass" on the wheels. I thought they were athracite, but they are silver.

If anybody is interested, I can give you the details for the seller.

16's are better... I have SSR 16 x 7.5 on mine, which is now dropped. I would like a set of the 15's though too.
