Good tire size for 16x7" rim? I was thinking 225/45?

225/45/16 is the best for same rolling diameter . Depending on the tire you may have to play with spacers to avoid rubbing.
If you want to play safe as far as width, go 215's with a 45/50 sidewall. Harder to find and low selection = higher price.
For 225's I've been debating 225/50's as there are a whole lot more choices, and are generally cheaper than the 45's. That 3% difference in speedo thing might bother me but I doubt it. There should be plenty of folks with real world experience to chime in.
edit: after searching a lil (hint, hint), 205/50/16 is pretty darn optimal too.Last edited by browntown; 05-18-2006, 08:08 PM. -
What kind of offset? If it's greater than 25mm, you should be fine with 225/45-16s. But if the offset is lower than 20mm you probably won't be able to fit 225s without rolling your fenders.Originally posted by 89325iturboCar is lowered about 2 inches front and rear.
I have et25 16x7 wheels with 205/50-16 tires. Fit fine. And rolling diameter is really close to stock.318is -gone-

225/45 would be ideal if you can fit it, 205/50 works great too.
As said above, what offset are your rims?Comment

The 16x7" would have a et20. Or i could get a set of 15x8" with a et25. On the 15's would a 225/45 still be a good choice or would it be better to go with a 225/50? dustyComment
