Best tire for 16x8 +20 wheel?

    Hello,

I'm currently looking to get new wheels for my car, most likely bbs Rs style wheels 16x8 with +20 offset. I am not to knowledgable in the field of tires so I was hoping someone could shed some light on a good tire size for that size wheel. I have a 1991 318is and I have H&R springs with bilstein shocks but my car doesn't seem to be lowered that much at all (bought the car 2 weeks ago). So if anyone has info on what tires would be good for that wheel and with minimum rubbing that would help a lot.

    Thanks!

    ^ 195? No.

A 205/50/16 would be a good fit and is a proper height compared to stock diameter.

I ran 215/45/16 Kuhmo XS. Pretty much perfectly square fitment. iirc they are 1.63% undersized compared to the stock 195/65/14. Not many tires are available in that size though.

^ Yep, a 215/45-16 is a bit closer than a 205/50-16 to the stock rolling diameter of the OEM tires on 14" basketweaves.

If you're looking for the "best" tire out there it's going to be subjective, though it largely depends on your budget and how you're going to be driving the car.

          OEM 195/65/14 are 24" diameter. 205/50/16 is 24.1" diameter. 215/45/16 is 23.6" diameter. ;)

Yeah, that's correct. I had mistakenly put 185/65-14 for the OE tire in the calculator. Whoops!

I just had to give you a hard time! :D

Honestly 215/45/16 is a good size but I'm fairly certain that's hard to find.

                  :p

Yeah the Azenis I have on my Type Cs are that size, though definitely not as common as 205/50.

If you're still looking for 215/45/16 there's 5 or so nice options readily available on tire rack
