offset question

first, can you run a 7.5 inch wheel on a 325i?

secondly
from what i recall the stock offset is et25
but that changes when you widen the wheel, correct?
so what offset would a 7.5 inch wheel have to be?
or if it was say, et45 what size spacers would you have to run?

sorry i just dont quite get this offset thing yet

or maybe if someone just knows of a write up on understanding offsets?

Stock offset's:

Bottlecaps 14x6 et35
weaves 14x6.5 et30
euro weaves 15x7 et25

You can see that as the wheel gets wider the offset needs to be lower.

Ronal LS is 15x7.5 et25 but I think that is cutting it close with wide tires. I would go with et20-22

So those would be sone THICK spacers to run the et45 wheels. I wouldnt bother.
