Say I wanted to be a bit gauche and paint the sidewall lettering on my tires white like on those cool 4x4 trucks or nascar tires.. any preferred paint? They are for the winter tires so it wouldn't be entirely out of place

DON'T DOIT!!! Or do something different than I did. Mine turned tan, in about two days. They weren't dirty, they just changed color. I think it reacted with something on the tire. I used the "Hot Tires" tire paint. I think it was dupli-color.Originally posted by Andy.BWhenever I am about to make a particularly questionable decision regarding a worryingly cheap diy solution, I just ask myself, "What would Ether-D do?"

I just used this cheap crap off ebay. It came out of the pen really bad and had a tendency to leak puddles, or do nothing at all. Once I got the letters actually filled in, it stayed white for 3 months or so before it completely wore away. Never went brown, just gradually faded away.
