    Wheel Question

Is anyone running 15x8 wheel size? My car will be used as a daily and i hope for it to see some track.

What do you guys advice? is there a different size you guys think works better on a E30? please let me know.

i'm new top the game so i'm try to learn, so if you can include the offset that would be great.

I run 15x8s on the track. Plenty of decent tires for them still. I have 225/50/15s on there right now, but will go to 225s in the Spring.

Check out the TRM C1s sold on Tire Rack. Light, strong and cheap. What's not to like?!

15x7 is the more common track wheel size for E30's since both SE30 and PRO3 guys tend to run them..

Either will hold a 225/50 or 225/45 which is a pretty easy to get size in tire. Or you can go 205/50 and run the same tire as SE30 and Spec Miata, thus increasing your chance of getting take off RA's or RR's at a bargain.

There is a TON of options for 15x7 in the 4x100 bolt pattern, and you can even get away with a few Factory Honda 15" rims in that size (I can't recall which model is was on, but a buddy runs them on his ITA car.) It just depends how much you want to spend and what is important (looks, weight, quality..etc.)

For me, I went with the Konig Rewinds in 15x7, because I liked the look. They are a +20 offset and technically for Miata, which means I need to run an adapter for the center, but this has never been an issue, and with the spacers on front, give me a "wide stance" on the track. The only issue, is, they do rub with my current setup.

Does 15x8 rub a lot? or is it something as an easy fix by just rolling the fender.

What wheel do you guys recommend 15x8 or 15x7? does 15x8 get a lot more grip? do you feel the difference? or is 15x7 a better choice, does the weight difference make up for the smaller wheel?

P.S. how do you know when someone replies to your thread? i didnt see a notification.

Didnt have to roll my fenders. Doesnt rub at all.

Is your goal to have the fastest lap time?

Thank for sharing that info. I'm new to the game, but the idea is to be a competitor. I've never done this autocross before. My main focus is to have a street legal daily driver that i can take on to the track and be competitive.

I haven't bought any aftermarket parts because all my money is going into maintenance so far. I still need to buy a new clutch, i found a sachs clutch for $129 on ebay.

Xxr 530 20mm offset. Have to run a 72mm to 57mm hubcentric ring. Had to run spacer to clear hoosier racing slicks but a 225 should have no issues. Paid like $400 on eBay.Blew a right front tire on track in a 70mph turn and the wheel stayed true. So I consider them pretty good.

Do you guys have 15x8 all around?

Or do you think i can do 15x8 in front and a 15x9 in the rear?

I would do a square setup for the track.

                      I am running 15x8 square

Yeah, if anything, you might want wider in front.. That is how my set up is, I run 10mm spacers in front (which also helps clear the coilover adjusting nut) and nothing in back.

15x8 +20 Konig Wideopens here. I've run 195/50, 205/50, and 225/45 with no issues. Baaarely clears the stock lower spring perch with the 225s, a small spacer might be wise.

Still waiting on a 15x9 that's cheap, light, and doesn't take an inch of spacer to fit.

                            Square it is then.

Do you guys think 15x8 with 20mm spacer are good enough or should i look into 15x9 instead? Is 15x8 a competitive wheel?

I'm just trying spend money once, or is spending money on wheels part of the game? lol

Thank you all for taking your time to reply, i appreciate the help.

Whether or not you need/want a spacer is going to be dependent on the offset of the wheel.
