Can anyone repair this Style 5?

RC039 17x9 ET26. It's a rare wheel and a perfect fit on the back of my e30 cabrio with e30 M3 suspension swap.

A rep at a Wheels America shop took one look and said it's not repairable, too much welding to make up the ground up part. Another place I sent pics to told me it's not repairable and asked me "What happened, World War III?" Pic attached.

The center looks straight but the barrel is obviously smacked up pretty bad. Apparently the wheel went sideways up a median curb and somehow the back side lip also saw action. Don't know exactly, my son was driving the car. Poorly.

    Thanks, guys.

    Dave

That looks pretty bad.. I think your best bet as of now when your looking for a shop is to post a WTB thread for a 17x9 style 5. Even if you weld it, it's not going to match unless they engrave the "lines" the exact same as BBS did (if you look closely in the top right hand corner between the two fasteners in your pic, you'll see a ton of parallel lines which are engraved everywhere on the wheel's lips), the lines are there to help let the clear coat stick to the lip. If it helps, the part number for the wheel is 36111181888

Thanks for the tip. I googled them an it looks like a serious shop. I'm going to try another place around here my paintless dent guy mentioned and if no deal, I'll call Perfect Metal.

Love your detail orientation and thanks for th p/n. I've got a few wtb ads up and been scouring eBay internationally, googling every which way. You know the drill. Backup plan is to buy some staggered e39 style 32s.

As for the finish, I bought this set from a wheel repair place on eBay in 2008. The lip finishes all didn't really match but I didn't care as I planned to do a refin or polish later. Plus the price was like 1300 so I hit the BIN as soon as they were posted.

All 4 wheels got some damage, but the linchpin is this wheel, the worst by a mile.

            Thanks again!
