Good PSI on 87 325ic, with basketweave wheels and stock refreshed suspension?

The car is an 87 325ic. Stock tire size and basketweaves. The complete suspension has been refreshed with oem parts.

I know what the doorjam says, but would it be advisable to add a little more PSI then what the doorjam says to stiffen up the ride a little?

It can't hurt if you don't go overboard. Tire pressure is an individual thing. Lowering front pressure while increasing rear pressure would tend to increase under steer and the opposite would increase oversteer I think.

I have decades of experience with fine tuning my handling via air pressures......

The front/rear pressures listed on the doorjam are the best place to start (they were determined by the engineers that designed the car) but you can slightly fine tune the ride and handling by adding a few pounds front and/or rear but don't go crazy.

Adding air effectively stiffens the tire's sidewalls, which slightly firms up the response and ride on that axle, but the effect is very slight.

Contrary to popular belief, adding a few pounds to the rear actually increases oversteer on a BMW. On a stock E30, which understeers when pushed hard, i would try adding one pound to the front, and two or three pounds to the rear to reduce understeer.
