whats a good offset?

just got my first e30, and i want to know if 16'sx7 with +42 offset will fit?

16x7 should be an offset about 20 to 22

15mm - 20mm spacer should work depending on how wide the tires are and how much drop you have. Sounds like a honda wheel. Honestly the cost of hubcentric spacers that large is pretty steep, I'd think hard about it. My buddy has these superlight 17" centerline wheels on his del sol, and I was thinking about the spacers to make em fit, then I got to thinking of cost, and said screw it.

anywhere from 20-35 will work. The lower the offset the closer to the fender the tires will be.
