will 16x7 with 38 offset fit

17" gives it extra clearance on the strut to run a slightly higher offset. BUT it seems like each e30 is unique, my 17x7 et33 didn't rub on my car but when I traded them to another e30 they rubbed without 5mm spacers.

You dont NEED spacers....I was running 17x7 et38 wheels with 225 tires. They fit fine. I just added 20mm spacers though and I would love to have another 5-10 mm's but Id never go with that thick of a spacer. Get em from turnermotorsports.com

There pricey and you'll have to buy longer studs, lugs, and centering rings. try em without spacers first and see if you like it. You prolly wont but you can get away with it. They just look like there sucked inside the fenders. The wheels in my sig are 17x7 et38 with no spacer. Im assuming the inch less of rim you have isnt gonna change things to much!

BMW set the offset of 15x7s at ET24, so yeah. For 7" wheels, the ideal offset is 24. It lowers for every inch wider you go.

who makes 10mm spacers? I'd go for 15mm H&R's, they sell 8mm that are much cheaper, but it might be really close depending on tire size. Bigger the spacer -- more wheel will be pushed out to fenders. I believe ideal net offset (wheel offset minus spacer size) is 25 for 7" wide rims.

If you dont use them with a wheel that has such a high offset, the wheel will hit the strut.

Pepboys started selling spacers recently, but if you really want the good stuff, you could get the H&Rs.

You might need longer lugs or a stud kit for 20mm wheels, probably for 10mm as well.

Thanks for the reply. What happens if you dont use the spacers? I work at a machine shop would I be able to make the easily or just save the trouble and buy them? IF so where is a good place to buy them.
