    DIY Hyperblack Kopi's

I have asked this before but I can't find the thread so I am going to ask again. I love the look of hyperblack kopi's, don't know why just do.

Anyways, Is there any way to get regular kopi's and getting them to look like hyperblack ones? Is the "hyperblack" paint or is it the material that is used in the wheel?

    Thanks

    Spray paint does wonders.

Not really . Not for the "hyperblack" look at least .

The finish is actually an opaque type paint applied over a bright silver base .

You could have a bodyshop shoot over the silver with a clear coat with just a hint of black pigment added .
The more coats they aply the darker/blacker it will turn out .

Should get decent/similar results using this process .

          .

So a prime candidate for this would be the kopi's?

And would custom powdercoating work? I obviously don't want them black just alitte dark and I might take them a tad bit darker than hyperblack on the kopi's.

You would need to talk with your coater. It might not be possible then again it might be.

bmw's chrome shadow used on m5 and m3 wheels is a black base coat with a light/opaque silver over it to give it the smoked or dark appearance.
Either way it looks like you were lazy and didn't clean your wheels.

Been there, there is no NO powdercoat that will look like hyperblack.

In an email from Abrahams Motorsports:
Just heard from the factory-this is how it is done:
First the wheels are painted with a black called Jet Black (code DP711)
After that the wheels are painted with BRI Silver (code DP290) and last
they apply a clearcote called BRI Silver clearcote (code DP700).
                Regards,
                Mel
