    ix wheels on 325e

I have an 87 325e with regular bottle caps. I went to the junkyard looking for a nice set of rims and came across some 15' basket weaves on a 325is. When I took the wheels off there were spacers. So i bought the wheels and tried to put them on my car with the spacers but it did not work(car didn't feel right). maybe i did some thing wrong? Which way do the spacers go on? Is there a certain side that should be facing out? Also when i tried the put the weaves on they would not sit on the lip of the hub. it was like just the lug nuts were holding the wheel up. it just didn't feel/look right. Is it possible for them to fit? thanks Matt

hubcentric spacers are always the best. Are you sure the lip of the wheel isn't against the strut? it definately wouldnt seat right if the spacers werent thick enough.

      ix wheels

the wheels are not hitting the strut but they are damn close. I can see that when i pulled them off the 325is in the junkyard the back of the rim was crushed a but from hitting the strut tower.the spacers that i have are H&R. it almost seams that the spacers are too thick that is why the wheel is not seating properly. I guess my question is. Does anyone have 15' IX wheels on a non IX e30? Can it be done? What do i need to do to make them fit?

As mentioned they fit but mighty close. Do a 5 MM hubcentric spacer and should be fine.

SchnellerVert, i do have H&R 5mm hubcentric spacers but they do not have a lip on them. Do you think that is the problem b/c the wheel will not seat on the hub. thanks Matt

Yep. 5mm spacers cover most of the hub, and vibrations are very likely.

            That's why I only recommend 3mm spacers, or 15mm+.
