Who has had wheels welded and redrilled?

How did they come out? Overall did it affect the wheel? I am looking at some wheels for a 5 bolt car and cosidering them to be converted back to 4 luggers.

Don't say convert to 5 lug please as these are JDM pattern and a 5 x114.8 would be silly on a BMW.

    Thanks

The Germans do it all the time, and you know how they are...

Ask M-Technik-3, he may be able to offer some advice, also.

What I've heard, welding is recomemded for forged alloy wheels. My friend had his Hartges welded and redrilled, they came out perfect.

If it done right then there are no problems but the thing is, is that most shops dont do it very often and are in essence practicing on your wheels.

I would have to have the shop stand behind it 100% and guarantee it for life.

Don't know honestly thats why I will call them later in the day. After speaking with Katie, I was informed that they don't perform this nor do they know of a shop that does this.

I have priced it before and it was around $50-70 per wheel
