    Rays Versus wheels any good?

    Hi all,

Just wondering, does anyone know if Rays Versus wheels are any good? From searching around, I think it's Rays as in Rays Engineering who make Volk wheels, and some others.

A used set have come up cheap, and I'm tempted for some 16" track wheels.

    Cheers!

A little research finds that Versus are Ray's entry level line of wheels. I'm sure they're probably halfway decent, but I can almost gaurantee that they're going to all be Honda or other Japanese car fitment, so you'll most likely need spacers to run them.

The Sesto Turismo and the Turismo Spada aren't bad, but I'm not really a fan of wheels with spokes that go right to the lip of the rim.

Yeah the offset issue concerns me...the seller is a BMW dismantler, and is saying they're to suit E30, but I've asked for the offset anyway. Plus I'll then need to make sure they fit over my brakes.

Here's a pic of them, on an E30:

If they fit the car well, they'll be perfect because at the end of each season the Lotus Cup organisers sell all the leftover, unused, 16" sticky tyres off the Lotus Elises for next to nothing. But typical of E30s, the tyres are easier to find than the rims!

Those are a pretty sick looking rim. I don't like the centercaps, but I usually like wheels without their centercaps, and I bet those look awesome without them.

Well, being track wheels I'd probably ditch the caps...maybe a different paint job...but that's probably being a bit vain for track slapping wheels :D!

          Here's another shot:

They look to sit pretty close to the struts to me...thoughts?

And of course, if money grew on trees...but I digress.
