    Re-drilling wheels?

I've been looking into different wheel options lately. Hands down, I believe the best look is a BBS style wheel. If you want the real ones you're talking major $$$. Ronal LS look great but only come in 15". One wheel I've seen which I believe would look perfect on the e30 is the BBS style wheel seen on the e38(seven series). It's 16x7.5 or 8 with a 20mm offset. Perfect size and offset for an e30, although probably a bit heavy.

So, has anyone looked into getting these wheels re-drilled or filled and drilled to fit an e30? You would also have to use a hubcentric ring to get the centerbore right, but it looks like an interesting option. So, what's it take to have this done as far as cost, who can do it etc????

    Please post info about redrilling.

a company over here do this types of conversion ijust recently saw a aluminum wheels refiilled and redrielled for the correct fitment. all I can say it was a great job, you can't see that was refilled or redrilled.
I was going to the same but I found a set of nice wheels BBS looks with motorsport logo on it

      Here's the thing though, Jim...

I was looking at this potentially with some 540i Sport Package wheels, however here's what I found when I came across the numbers:

4 BBS RC wheels - about $1900 shipped from tirerack.

That was the mark I knew I wanted to stay under.

      540i Sport Package wheels -
      $900 shipped

      Wheel prep - $100 (all 4 wheels)
Hub-filling (believe it was too big) $60/wheel
Current hole re-filling (otherwise there would be spots too weak to trust at high speeds, according to the metal shop) $90/wheel
      Re-drilling ($20/wheel)
      Re-balancing/finishing ($150)

So, when you end up having this great deal on Sport package wheels, with all the work to get them to be E30 fitment, then you find yourself another $930 down (just added that quickly in my head), on wheels that still aren't as good as new, but only like $100 cheaper than the genuine article cast for the proper fitment.

      :-/

Thanks for the info. BTW, my first name is Jeff not Jim. Online, I've often been mistaken for Jim Rowe. Anyway, I thought it would be an interesting option to explore. On ebay, it appears that the e38 basketweaves routinely go for about 300, sometimes more, but if you watch the auctions right you can get them for that. If it only cost less to get the fitment right, it might be worth it. I'll try to find out if there are any local wheel shops and get their quotes, but it looks as though it will cost too much $$$ to be worth it.

Listen up fuck face. If you're a noob on here, then you are a noob everywhere. I don't care how may times you posted on some waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles-ass e36 forum. So take you little 28 posts and go stick them up your engorged ass hole. (oh,btw, welcome to r3v ;) )

Someone has redrilled those e38 wheels, and the thread is on here somewhere - they look stunning (but they look best with out the caps, but then you see the redrill and fill).

You seem to know your way around the search feature - if you still can't find it, let me know and I'll dig for it.

supposedly there is a place in cali, that does it for $200 ( fill and redrill x4, plus shipping).
thats what I heard at a meet, from Matt-B ( on this forum) who had a set filled and drilled
Ive been toying wiht the idea also, as I cant afford a 5 lug conversion right now, and I occasionally come across nice BBS 5 lugs at a pretty decent price
thta and this spring, Ill need tires and have to replace 2 basket weaves
