    Cost/benefit analysis of autocross tires

So it is pretty expensive for a set of 15" Euro Weaves, lets assume $500, plus $350 for a set of tires vs $200 for a set of 14" weaves and $250 for a set of tires.

195/60/14's vs 205/50/15's. how much of a difference might I see in handling, has anyone gone from 14's to 15's with wider tires and seen how it helped their lap times?

14" tire sources are drying up. As are the 15's try finding more than 5 decent tires in these sizes.

225-45-15's I use these, they were significantly faster.

get a set of 15x8 rotas for $550 shipped from 18racing.com and use 225/45/15 Hooters or 225/50/15 V710s

This will be 10 steps ahead of 195's on stock weaves.

i've been looking at the 195/60 14" Azenis 615's but they have the 205/50/15's for a great price, only $328 a set shipped for the 15's and $288 shipped for the 195's. will the 225 series front rubber clear everything or cause the bead to roll over too much on the 15x7's? 15x8's seem like a better size for those. I saw some BBS or maybe they were knockoffs but they were like the Euro weaves and were 15x7.5 know what i might be talking about?

225's work fine on 15x7's. The guy advertising 15x7.5 euroweaves has no clue. They are 7" wide

Ronal LS are 15x7.5 but way more money than we are talking about here.

If you are going to use them for racing only, I would recommend picking up used race tires. Serious racers replace their tires that still have tons of life left just because they may be .5 seconds slower. Race tires are much more fun than street/race tires.

i think i'm going to be doing autocross more than road courses because they are much more expensive, and if i use the race tires i dont think i can stay in street touring.

Yhen just do DE events so you don't need to worry about handle to handle racing. Cheaper budget as well.
