Yeah, ZE-512's run so narrow they rarely rub anything. A 225 Ziex is the same width as most other 215 tires.

jst for refrence, my car is lowered on 60/40mm weitec springs/shocks, when i ran 225/50/15(512's) last summer it never rubbed even when i blew the shock in the back with 2 people in the rear still never did.

No they're not. IIRC they are 9.2" wide, fairly average for a summer 225/50/15. There are wider out there, such as the S-03PP (9.3", which WILL rub the strut).

I would probably be fine, but there is so much debate on the boards and conflicting info about what brands fit and what don't that I am just going to take the easy way and go for the OEM size. Thanks for the input.

Fair enough. If you want to be 100% certain they won't rub, just get the 205s.

I just looked up the tire specs, they are 9.2" on a 7". Run the 225's if you'd like.
TR guy said with 25 offset they might rub fenders.

My car has stock suspension, and it is gonna stay that way, so I'll just keep it stock-sized on the rubber, too.

I run a 225/40/16 hankook ventus whatever. No rubs with H&R sports. If you dont do a lot of performance driving, stick with the 205. They'll be lighter and narrower so better acceleration and better gas mileage.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll stick with the recommended 205/55 tires. According to Tirerack, the 225 Kumhos might have fit problems.

    A few years ago, I had ACT LS 15" x 7.5" et25 and 225.50.15 TOYO RA1s on my Hartge H23.

That was a great set-up. If you track your car, the rear tires will slightly rub the inner well under compression. Nothing major, and that is a very common occurence. You will only notice a skidmark on the metal that will be polished a bit. Don't worry.

Ahhh, new stuff. See, this is why I mention "last time I checked". And I'm on Tirerack weekly just about, it must be a new size offering.

Check the section width of the 225/50/15. If it's more than 9.2" on a 7" wheel, you may have issues. I severely doubt an H-rated all-season would be that wide though, only extremely aggressive summer gear is.

The ASX does not, but the AST does come in that size, and it is only $53 at Tirerack.

My concerns are twofold: that the 225 actually fits on the wheel, and that the 225 does not rub on any part of the car.

depends on the wheel, but they will most likely fit fine.

edit: haha, duh! I forgot the title of the thread. yes they'll fit great.
