    curious about spacing basketweaves

I'm kinda digging the look of my painted weaves but the offset doesn't match the beautiful fender arches of the E30. I'd like to space my basketweaves out. I was wondering if anyone has this on their E30 and pics to show me how it turned out?

right now I have 205/60 es100's on there

    Nothing wrong with that idea.

Atleast 15mm spacers combined with longer lug bolts, or a proper-length stud kit is easy. If you're going to do it, I'd definitely take this chance to switch to a stud kit. How stiff is your suspension? The stiffer it is, essentially the closer you can put the tires flush to the fender lips with maybe a 20mm spacer.

I think a 15mm spacer would be perfect. No need to worry about possible rubbage of the tires either.

Is it safe to use spacers that don't have a hub for the centre bore? I have 8mm spacers on the rear, and the wheels are only held in place by the bolts. Bad idea?

I wouldn't use them. Go hubcentric or go home.

yeah, i'm also wondering the same thing.
was thinking about putting 15-20mm spacers on just the rear wheels, make the stance look a little more symmetrical.
so how thick can spacers be before i have to buy longer lugs for weaves?

I would get longer bolts after about 3-5MM spacer. Not sure if more or less is ok, but pretty sure that a 3mm is the max with a stock bolt. Just get some longer ones to go with the spacer MM size you go with. A 15mm spacer would need like a 50-60MM stud.

I used 15mm spacers on basketweaves and it turned out perfect.

go to parts4vw.com for the 15mm spacers, they are like $80 for a pair (way cheaper than anywhere else, I did the research for you). Search for spacers for Audi A1 chassis, they are the same centerbore and lug pattern as E30s.

Then go to turnermotorsport.com and buy new H&R extended bolts, just look for the bolts that compensate for 15mm spacers, the description will say so. They are $2.50 a bolt at tms.
