E30 Tire Gurus, hergekommen bitte

Mel let me jump in on the Kopi GB tonight :p Thanks Mel!

I am contemplating the 195/50ZR15 Bridgestone Potenza RE750, Pic, to be mounted on the 6.5" rim

Tire; 7.68" = 195mm
Rim; 6.5" = 165mm

So that gives me theoretically ~1.2" of rim overhang, or ~0.5" of rim overhang on each side, which I'd imagine should be I'd imagine a fairly vertical sidewall.

Does that sound about right, or have I missed something? I don't want it to be uber-stretched, and I can't see how it would be, but want to make sure with some other eyese looking at it.

Yes, the 16x7.5 Keskin KT1's and 225/45/16 Hankook RS2's will be FS when I get these mounted. :)

Those tires are undersized. I would personally go with a 205/55 tire on that wheel.

I guess you guys are right. THIS is the look I am going for. Maybe just a teeny bit of stretch, and that is on a 205 on a 8”.

I’m not planning on getting the same tires, so section width and tread width are different, but it gives me a visual representation at least.

If you want more vertical, run 195/60/15.

That’s a little over ½” taller than what I am currently running [3.99” vs. 4.61”], which to me already looks plenty.

Would that give me a donut look you think?

The overall diameter stays within the same size boundary. Undersized tires look crappy as well as provide less traction in every situation.

Ooo, good point. You are correct. 22.8 vs. 22.7 So you like the 195 or the 205 size Jay?

====

Edit, I spoke too soon. 190/50 is the 22.7 for the Bridgestone Potenza RE750

Huh?

Stock OD is 24.0". Your current setup is 24.0". 205/55 and 195/60 maintain within 3% of those.

You arent going to get any stretch on a 6.5" wheel. 205/55 will be fine.
