    eurotuner.com: tire buying guide

Ive been trying to do research on some new tires to buy, and stumbled on this review done by eurotuner.com. they side by side road tested 14 performance tires - seemed like a good source for info on many of the tires i see people riding. its a bit outdated, since its written for 2005 but still has good info. the site has annoying pop-ups and bad layout, but worth reading.

Anybody have opinions on the Fuzion ZRi? it was their budget choice for tires. I have heard lots of complaints on how noisy they are...

What kind of driving? Daily driving all-seasons? Autocross? Track days?

They did a test in 06 too, it was in the magazine. I have the fuzion HRI, I think. They are noisy, but @ 50 per tire mounted and balanced i cant complain.

I can recommend a tire for you.

Rank these in priority from highest to lowest:
          Handling
          Dry Traction
          Wet Traction
          Ride Quality
          Treadwear
          Price
          Noise

Also, tell me what size you're looking for.

            Im looking for some 225/50/15's

            1-Price
            2-Handling
            3-Wet Traction
            4-Dry Traction
            5-Treadwear
            6-Ride Quality
            7-Noise

thats not my ideal priority list but 1)My eta is not fast 2)I don't track the car 3)these will not be driven in snow (or cold/winter seasons) 4)Seems to rain around here frequently enough and I'd like to be able to whip around corners at 35mph wet or dry :D

treadwear is somewhat important in that I'd like to have them last at least 2 summers w/o losing their stickiness. noise sucks but I guess I can't win them all, especially when price is the 1st priority.

            Jay is a mfing :pimp:

With that list, you're going to have to compromise.

BFG G-Force Sports: Decent price, great handling, dry traction, treadwear. They're not very capable in the wet though.

Hankook R-S2: Similar characteristics to the G-Force Sports, but are stickier in the dry and don't last as long. Slightly less responsive.

Michelin Pilot Exalto: Fit every criteria except price.

(Wildcard) New Falken ZE-912: Replacement for the ZE-512, promises to be a bit more aggressive. The 512's downfall was a soft sidewall and fast treadwear, but they are very cheap.

Basically decide what you're willing to sacrifice.

Honestly barely anyone stocks them yet, let alone heard about them. I had a lot of success with the ZE-512s, I expect the ZE-912s to be very competitive.

I saw some online somewhere, i think it was 1010 but they seem generally overpriced.
that edgeracing site has them listed at $68 a piece

someone was telling me not to go with the 512's - cant remember who or why
