    wheel + tire weight

I've got a set of mystery wheels and random euro tires.

I've talked about them in another thread. Nobody on any forum knows what they are.

    The wheels are 17x7.5
The tires are Marshal Power-racer II, 215/45/17

Anyway, the wheels and tires (0 psi) are 41.5lbs each. I'm considering using them for track wheels, but only if they're decently light. A bottlecap is 32lbs at 0psi.

    Is 41.5lbs light for 17x7.5's w/ tires ?

It isn't too bad. The tire prolly weighs ~23lbs.

You need to specify which tire you have on your cap. I've check the weight of 2 mounted ones, and had a 5lb difference. The heavier one was the original spare Pirelli P6000, weighing in at 37lbs. A cap with 205/60 falken 512's weighed 32ish lbs, fully inflated for both of them.
