so my tires are reaching the end of their lifespan but it seems that my drivers side tires have less tread than my passenger side tires. diffrence of about 2 mil. is this just because of the LSD, or is something out of line in my suspension? i dont want this issue when i get new tires so want to fix this now. any ideas?

Well, many things could cause this. A bad alignment, too much weight on the driver's side, taking more hard right turns than left.... etc.'89 325i track sloot

well i weigh 135 pounds so too much weight on the drivers side is probably not an issueim thinking it might be because we drive on the right side of the road in this country and sometimes i get too lazy to downshift and just toss it into the corners. is there any way to check allighnment at home?

You can make some string-alignment rig, but that needs to be precise, and I'd presonally just deal with the wear until I get upgraded suspension, then align the whole thing.
Any pics of the tires?'89 325i track sloot

I would get a front end alignment when you get tires, it is only like 50 bucks or so. I know that sears will put it on the rack and check it for free (evaluation) and you don't even have to pay if you need to replace something or whatever.:: PNW Crew ::

Hey josh Les Schwab will also check it out for free, Funny thing is Me and Vic usually ride on the right and there is more tread on the rightComment

I found that simply taking highway round-about on ramps in my old 525 really ate up the driver side tires on the outer edge over time.Comment

How long have you owned this car though? And is it both drivers tires are worn vs both good passenger side ones?
It is possible that a previous owner tried to rotate them after putting considerable mileage on them.sigpicComment

ive had it about two years, both the drivers side tires are worn more than the tires on the passenger side. i think i might just try and make them last till november then when i get new tires i will get the front end allignedYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.Comment
