what are the advantages/disadvantages of going 7.5 vs 9 wide?

with the lip i know it will look nicer, but how much heavier do wheels become with the lip? i may be overplaying this but i'de figure a few lbs? another thing is the price difference (if you're considering new wheels). is it worth it? more room for rubber, but since this is a DD i don't "Need" it.

you won't get much more rubber under stock body work with 9"ers than you would with 7.5".

Man up and get the 9's, you'll be glad you did;) You won't be able to tell
the difference in weight between the two and the price difference isn't
drastic, etc...

check out edgeracing. they list the tire weight. I ended up saving 5 pounds per tire by looking up the weight. Why spend the extra money on a light wheel and then weigh it down with a heavy tire. just my 2 cents.
