Goodyear F1s and Stretch?

Hey, Ive been searching for tires for my BBS RS's, they are 16x8 front 16x9.5 rears. I have been recommended some GSD3 Eagle F1s (other recomendations?). I was just wanting some opinions on these tires especially regarding stretch as I will have 215/40 (or should I go bigger? 215/45) on the rears and maybe the fronts as well (if not 195/45). Also does anyone have pics of this tire size on similar sized wheels?

I would go with T1Rs, I love mine and they stretch amazing. I have 195/45 on my 7.5" and a 205/45 on my 9" wheel.

Yea I know about the T1Rs, but the F1s are a slightly better tire, plus the tire shop has them readily available in the sizes I want. I imagine the stretch of a 205/45 would be similar to a 215/40 on a 9.5" wheel?

T1R's are a better tyre than the Goodyears. Better overall grip, especially with a little more camber dialed in.

I beg to differ. F1 GSD3's are some of the best street tires around. Ive gone through two sets [195/50-15, 215/50-16] with both lasting around 20k with amazing rain grip all the way down to cords and tons of dry grip.

NO.

T1-R's are not impressive tires by any means, while the GS-D3 is right at the top of the class. No comparison. And yes, to the original poster, they will stretch (the sidewalls are fairly flexible, their downside to hard tracking).

GSD3's come in two other sizes that may work better for your wheel choice.

I had 215/50's on 16X7's with relativly square shoulders and looked like rubber bands. Goodyear also makes a 225/50 that may rub but would look good on 8 and 9.5" rims IMO

I agree about the F1 GSD3. Awesome street tire. Particularly in the wet. I tracked them on my previous daily/track car over wet racetrack with the same confidence as i was on dry surface, just slower. But as you said, they did not support to be hard tracked(on dry racetrack). They do not support the heat well (compared to other street tire like the RT-615). Their performance decrease up to a point they became hard and not good at all(wet or dry).

Car & Driver (December 2005) rank them 1st like the EuroTuner mag you mentioned into another thread.

I liked them so much that i bought another set for this car since i do not track it anymore(daily driving only).

Below are photos of my 215/40-17's on my 8" wide BBS RC wheels.
They are an amazing tire. Definitely buy them! Although I'd probably go 215/45 for the 9.5" wide wheel.

Thanks for all the replies! Read them all and will definitely be going with the F1s. Thanks for the pics too they look really good. If I go 215/45 on the rears should I put 195/50 on the fronts for equal stretch? or will it compromise handling to much?
