    Are studs required?

Do the Sportmax and Konig Remembers require studs? Is there a lug bolt available to fit them? I've never worked with wheel studs and would prefer not to.

No , there are thinner head "tuner style" lug bolts available .

      Thanks Teaguer!

You wouldn't happen to have a link or know where I can get those "tuner" lug bolts?

Your loss. Converting my hubs to studs was probably one of the single greatest mods I ever did to my car.

I could see how people like studs so much.

But with studs, I'd have to run a specific size spacer with any wheel to prevent the stud from sticking out too far and not allowing me to run the wheel's centercap. And if I get higher offset wheels that may require a thicker spacer, then I would need to hammer the studs back out and get different sized studs. The convenience of studs for me is (far) outweighed by the ability to hot swap different sized wheel bolts for different sized spacers.

For me it seems putting wheels on with wheel bolts is not hard at all.

Studs are nice, but not necessary. BTW, Remembers can bolt on with your stock lug bolts. Only Sportmax wheels need tuner style lug bolts.

He must be an Ex-Honduh guy. They have to hammer their studs in and out of the hub.

Most factory studs are pressed in. AFAIK you will only thread in studs when changing from a wheel bolt design.

I had to ask, as the '89 I just bought has studs and some ricer 16" rims that needed spacers on the front to clear the calipers.

Its true that studs are great ...if you need them and not everyone does .

Heres a couple of 12x1.50 bolts that will work for you :

I've used the tuner style lugbolts on one of my cars since 01' without any problems .
