    Proper tire size for 16x8?

    What's a proper tire size for a 16x8 wheel? 215/40?, 225/45?

    225. Most tire manufacturers will have a spec sheet that shows the minimum and maximum wheel widths for safe mounting.

This thread is useless without an offset.

        ...and suspension details.

I just got the car, but I'm going to guess between 25 and 35. The wheels are Forgeline LS Mesh. Originally for a VW fitment, so I would say closer to 35. Car is on Eibach springs, Pro-Kit I think.

+35 on a 8" wide wheel? I wouldn't run anything wider than a 205. Your tire will probably be hitting the strut otherwise.

Well, maybe the offset is lower then. Right now they have 215/40's on em, and the tires are shot. So I need to get some new ones and need to know if I should go bigger or not. Cause it's looks funky with the undersized tires on there now.

Post a picture of the car so we can have an idea.

you probably want around an et20 for an 8" wheel.

Yeah dude, that's kinda far away lol. If that's an 8, I'm taking a step at it for +20 offset.

I'll check the offset for sure tomorrow. So 225/45 will work or no?

Still too far away to guess. I still would say no on the fact that you're on a Pro-Kit.

What Erick is saying is true. There's no way we could blindly tell you put on a 225/45/16 without knowing the offset. Also, with a Pro-Kit you're pretty much screwed anyways, it's too soft.

If 215/40/16 works and you're interested in something like R-S2s (read: all-out performance), just get 215/45/16 Falken RT-615s.
