    Forget Work get Forgeline!

So after a bunch of emails back and forth with the WORK dealer I had settled with the VS-XX wheels but it seems that the wheels did not come in the offsets I wanted in the 18 inch. I thought you could get custom ordered rims from them, but I guess not. So I ended up ordering the Forgeline wheels MD3P Wheels. www.forgeline.com They were more expensive, but I think they look much better.

I uploaded some photos, but that red BMW is not my car.

So I ended up ordering the Silver with polished lip. I finally saw some chrome rims and I like the silver painted ones better as it wasn't so flashy. It should arrive in 4-6 weeks!

I was interested in the gun metal finish but my car is the calypso red, so I figured that may look goofy. Besides silver finish is the classic finish right?

I ordered them 18x8 et22 for the front and 18x9 et25 for the rear. :D

Nice . Good to see someone going with something other than $100per wheels .

The VSXX are a nice wheel though , too bad their "custom" wheels are only offered in a few predetermined offsets .

What size tire do you plan to run in the rear ?

My friend works at Forgeline in Kettering, OH. He will probably be building your set of wheels. Great choice! I'm partial to Forgeline's as well....

Thanks for all the comments so far! I am really excited about getting the wheels. I have been searching for months and Jay (Mystikal) has been helping me get the correct offsets. I hope they will fit!

They are on Kettering Blvd. Do you know where Fatt Boyz tire/wheel place is? They are right across the parking lot from them. Right near the GM/delphi plant

AARRRGH! So I get word from the guys at the shop, the wheels have arrived but one got dented from shipping! Good news is the guys from Forgeline is going to replace the damaged barrel but the bad news is the replacement will take another three weeks!!!!

I guess it isn't too bad because the dent is in the front wheel. I am going to pick up the other three and begin the fender modifications and finish the bodywork, which will take three weeks anyways. By the time the body work is done, the replacement wheel should arrive and I can get the car back on the road!!!!

Road trip anyone? Mid May? Pacific Northwest?

re the offsets, its generally because the centre is cast and machined down to create different offsets once it is made. So what you can end up with is a couple of different casts which can be machined down specific amounts to create specific offsets, so anything that doesnt really fall in that range cant be done.

                        nice wheels btw :)
Just a little project im working on

you can run 225/35/18 in the front if you wanted. i ran it on my e30 and it fit with 18x8 et20.

I could but I am running 235 30 18 in the rear and the overall diameter is the same as 205 35 18. If I ran with a 225 35 18, the front would have a larger overall diameter than the rear. I could only find the Toyo that made a 30 series tire that is 235 wide.

So I wasn't really concerned about getting another 20mm wider front tire vs a wider rear tire. The other option I have is going with a 215 35 18 in the front and 225 35 18 in the rear.
