Which tire would fit my requirements better?

    Size 225/45R16

Falken fk-452 or Yokohama AVS ES100

I am looking for a tire:

Grips Well for everyday summer tire.
    Has reasonable wear characteristics.
    Not noisy
    Decent in the rain.

    Thanks
    Tom

The FK-452. The ES100 is both noisy as it wears and quite poor in the wet.

I have no experience with either, but I've heard the same about the Yoko's from several knowledgable sources.

        Jay,

Once again, thanks for sharing your experience.

my 225 es100s were noisy even when new, sucked complete ass in the rain, and had very "slippery" grip levels, they really only liked to work well in a very specific temp range..

I really like my Bfgoodrich KDW2's, bust freakin summer tire in the rain, although kinda noisy.

I have a set of es100's sitting in storage. Perfect size for the last 3 sets of 16's I have bought. Yet, I pass them up and buy new rubber each time. Why you ask? ES100's suck sweaty goat balls.

Too bad you live thousands of miles away, I'd love to take those from you. :)

I like ES100's for what they do have going for them: Very high temp capabilities and stiff sidewalls (hello, drifting...).

Oh, and to Tom, check out the Kumho SPT too. It's slightly better than the FK-452 in most respects, and comes in that size.

I am tossing them onto a set of new wheels just to see if I like the wheels now. I am not much into the "drifting" biz.

Come out to the picnic. You can have em! :)
