    Slipstream fitment question

Ok, I have a 91 318i and commute with it 100+ miles a day. I am putting a set of 16-inch slips on it and want to know what width and what tire size makes the most sense in this situation and has the best look. The car has a 1.25 in. drop and I dont want to roll the fenders because I already painted it thinking I wasnt going to keep it...nor do I want any rubbing. So 16x7? 16x8? What tire size ya think?

If you're paranoid about rubbing, thinner wheels/tires would be better. 205's on a 7" rim should be fine. I'd wait for someone in the know to comment on slipstreams and if it matters.

16x8 were the only ones MADE JUST FOR THE E30, so i say run those with some 225/40/16 and you will be all good.

Yeah Im paranoid about it, but I dont want the car to look gay either. I want the right stance, but I dont want to sacrafice functionality considering I drive it 30K a year.

16x8 ET20 with 205/45/16 tires is what you're looking for. No rubbing.

So if I go with the 205's on the 16x8, is it gonna have a "pansy look to it?

lol @ pansy. It'll be slightly stretched, here's a pic of a 16x8 ET15 with the same sized tire:

The et-15 sticks out less than the 20 would, correct? Sorry, Im a Jeep guy and not used to dealing with this stuff. And what if I wanted the tire slightly wider than the rim? What then?

Yeah ET20 will be 5mm further IN, and to raise the rear you can use 9/10mm spring pads in the back. Do a search on here, they're available from the dealer. Oh, and if you want the tire wider than those rims, you'd have to roll the fenders.
