advice for shipping wheels with tires?

    advice for shipping wheels with tires?

    should i just put a couple of layers of cardboard over the wheel front and back and use lots of tape? should i find big ol boxes?

    go buy 2 long threadrd rods and some bolts and bolt 2 wheels together through the lug holes.
    put a piece of cardboard in the middle and on top.
    tape around them a few times and then plastic wrap them.
    best way to ship wheels.

      Never heard of doing the rods through the bolt holes, that seems pretty unecessary. Just use 3 peices of cardboard and 2 wheels each, making a Big Mac out of them, coccoon the whole thing in tape and plastic wrap, and you're good. I've shipped several sets of whee/s and wheels/tires that way.

      Also, another good method if it's just wheels is to go to your local tire/wheel place and ask them for 4 wheel boxes in the size you need or bigger. They always have them, and they'll usually kick them down for free.

        Put a layer of bubble wrap between the wheel face and cardboard. I got a set where the clear coat had a tone of abrasion.
