    BBS RS tech. Question

I've posted this question on S14 but nobody wants to go out on a limb and say yeah or nay.
I currently run 16X7.5 ET30 RS 020's with a 10 mm spacer, the fit is just about perfect. Question is: If I replace the outer rims, do I have to go with the existing size (1.5" I believe) or can I go wider, say 2" front and 3" rear for an 8"/9" stagger? If I stick with the 225/45 tires I don't see a rubbing issue. My current outer hoops are pitted (20+ years old).
Just curious if the offset or some other factor would need to be different to accomodate the wider outer hoops.

Picture of the M-car with the remote security system, adds about 120lbs but nobody touches the car.

She's a little sheddy in this pic, a lot of people think she's a husky. Best dog we've ever had, she checks in for a pat on the head once a day, usually around 8:00 PM, other than that, she just does her own thing.
Keeps the Jehovas Witnesses at bay too.
