i'm in the market for wheels for my e30. dont know if i should go with 15 or 16" rims. i figure with 15's i can get cheaper tires and with the crappy roads where i live i will have less chance of damaging a rim. but i think 16's might look better. whats everyone running? any wheel suggestions? pics?

A lot of guys here think 16" is a great balance between looks and ride quality. I don't think you would run in to too many problems with poor roads and 16" wheels, but it also depends a lot on your tire. Some have far softer sidewalls than others and will be more forgiving/comfortable. 15" can look very good, but it's not much a size increase over stock. I struggle to see the difference between 14" and 15" unless I really look hard.

go with 16's so at least you can tell the diff between stock sizeYour signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

16's are the best size for an E30, IMO. 15's will cut it, but only if they're Ronal LS or BBS RS, or if they're uber wide, you're slammed, and have stretch/poke. But I think 16's fit the car the best, they're the perfect size to look like upsized wheels, but without dwarfing the brakes. I had 17" Mille Miglias on my first E30 and they looked badass, but they made my brakes look dinky as fuck.

225 45 16 should be perfect.
i think 16s are ideal. i have 15s and i admit that at times they look tiny but overall i like them.
