Well then I need a 215/40/16, help me pick a tire, chief.

As the title says i need a 215/40/r16 for daily driving out here in rainy WA. I don't have really any experience with different tires, so I am asking for some advice, what would you recommend?

225/50/16 will tear up your fenders.

      215/40/16 falken azenis st-615's

or go 225/45/16 (correct size) r-s2's.

        ;)

and fwiw, 215/45 is barely shorter than stock, so you are within the 3% margin of difference. And these can be had for a tad over $400 shipped from edgeracing. mine just came in today... i can't wait to have em mounted!

Do they need to stretch onto a 9" wheel?

The Kumho SPT is one of the best wet tires in that size, and it's cheap. Other good ones: Falken FK-452, Toyo T1-R, Goodyear GS-D3, BFGoodrich KDW2.

Hmmm, what's the offset of the wheels? Do you NEED to run such a short tire?

                          Offset is +15

I was told by you that my only options were 215/40 and 205/45

Well since you have high fenders 215/45 would work fine and look much better than a 215/40. A 215/40 is very short. I would go with a 215/45 or even a 205/45.

I have 205/45 Toyo T1Rs and I love them. They are really good in the rain too. Florida rain is just as bad if not worse sometimes.

Today was a great day my friends. For I had my 215/45 R-615s stretched onto my 9" wide wheels without any issues. And they look magnificent by my standards.

From the side profile, the tire and the lip of the rim are flush. I think thats a good thing.
